The plan
Four Priorities for Mississauga Ward 7
- 01
Affordability & Value for Tax Dollars
Residents deserve clear choices before being asked to pay more. I'll bring forward a motion for a fully costed zero-increase option for the City's portion of property taxes, with the service and infrastructure trade-offs made public. I'll push for a rolling review of services and major contracts, transparent reporting on savings, and responsible revenue options beyond property taxes. I'll also scrutinize spending at Peel. My standard is straightforward: show the costs, explain the choices, and demonstrate the value.
- 02
Housing: More Choice. Homes That Fit. Paths to Homeownership.
Ward 7 needs homes that fit different budgets, household sizes and stages of life. I'll work to expand missing-middle housing options and strengthen the City's approach to delivering more two- and three-bedroom homes, with public reporting on what is actually being approved and built. I'll also push to extend rebates that help homeowners and small landlords create safe, legal secondary rental units and add to the rental supply, with funding tied to clear results. At Peel Regional Council, I'll bring forward a motion to study down-payment assistance that could give first-time buyers a real path to homeownership.
- 03
Stronger Local Businesses & Economy
Local businesses need practical support during major construction, and a City that makes it easier to start and grow. I'll bring forward a Cooksville business-support action plan focused on customer access, temporary parking and loading options, clear signage and coordinated permits. Working with the BIA, I'll press Metrolinx and the Province for direct assistance tied to documented disruption and publish updates on outstanding issues. Across Ward 7, I'll push for clearer approval processes and easier access to existing business services. Better transit and a stronger local economy should move forward together.
- 04
Flood Protection, Better Parks & Community Spaces
Reduce flood risk, improve our parks, and work to get Cooksville's planned community centre and library built—with a clear funding plan, public milestones and regular progress updates. More opportunities to learn, stay active and connect, for residents of all ages.

The person
Meet Jerry
Local roots. Practical experience. A commitment to Mississauga Ward 7.
Jerry Krzywda has called Mississauga home since immigrating from Poland with his family at the age of six. He spent part of his childhood in Cooksville and is now raising his family in Ward 7.
Jerry's involvement in public policy advocacy began locally, on the Government Relations Committee of the former Mississauga Real Estate Board. Today, he sits on the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board's Government Relations Committee and chairs its West Working Group, advocating on issues such as zoning, affordability, housing choice and development charges. He is also a member of the Provincial/Federal Advocacy Committee of the Cornerstone Association of REALTORS®.
Beyond housing policy, Jerry serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, where he co-chairs the Finance and Audit Committee and the Grants and Awards Committee, contributing to governance and financial oversight.
Through advocacy work, Jerry has engaged with government at the municipal, provincial and federal levels. He learned the value of listening carefully, examining the evidence and building the consensus needed to get things done.
He is running to bring a practical, transparent and evidence-based approach to representing Ward 7 on Mississauga City Council and Peel Regional Council.

I'm running for Councillor because whether you rent or own, Ward 7 should be a place where you can afford to live and build a future; where seniors can remain in the communities they call home; and where residents can count on safe streets, well-maintained public spaces and dependable City services.
